Description

Barracudas have evolved over millions of years to become some of the largest predatory fish in the world. The barracuda fish is a type of electric ray native to the Atlantic Ocean. These fish have been known to live up to 20 years. Their diet consists mainly of crabs, small shrimp, and squid. They are considered to be a predator and will eat many different species including larger fish.Their diet consists of about 90% protein. However, they prefer eating smaller fish and invertebrates. There are four types of Barracuda; the Pacific Barracuda (Sphyraena caeruleus), the Atlantic Barracuda (Sphyrna zoroaster), the Southern Barracuda (S. tiburo), and the Northern Barracuda (Spirura lanceolata).
